Antother way of explaining this is that just as Christ died for us and we ourselves cannot could not do it the same is for those in spirit prison, they need someone to do the physical act for them

It is true all we are doing is allowing those who have passed on to have the opportunity to choose however they will, it is simply performing the act physically as proxy for them since obviously they no longer have a physical body.

So if Hitler or Stalin were a relative of mine, then if I was a Mormon, I could get baptized for them and they could go to Heaven.

  5. jbboyd25 says:

You could indeed be baptized in behalf of them and then it would be up to them to accept or reject the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Actually, you could get baptize for them in the temple if you were a Mormon, but it’s up to Christ if you, me, Hitler, Stalin, Bush or any other human being “goes to heaven”…
