    what a freak show

  2. 95toycrawler says:

nick has a history of drug and alcohol abuse. and you people are gonna use him as an example of the lds faith. he is his own faith all he wants is to be famous and since this was the only way he could do it he did it. notice my brother didnt mention he married his first wife 2 times and has 2 kids that he cant see which is court ordered. notice he didnt mention he married an ex porn star. he only tells you info that makes him look like a saint. and you are all feeding into it. good luck fools

  3. 95toycrawler says:

watch the video with the mantality that my brother just wants attention and to be recognized. dont even consider he is a lds member. consider that he has completely different motives and let me know what you think.

  4. thatjimguy says:

NO, the point was to make a mockery out of LDS beliefs. Just to make us look bad.

Shawn has made his case about a lack of individuality in the church before. This is just sensationalism.

  5. JesusIsMyFriend777 says:

how do you know all these things?

  6. 95toycrawler says:

    im nicks younger brother.

  7. rpavich says:

    Here’s my question:
Why is Nick any less of an LDS member than anyone else? HE SAYS HE IS an LDS member…

Why is his claim less valid than any other member?

When Shawn says that LDS aren’t Christian because they don’t believe the core beliefs of Christianity, they cry foul! They INSIST that they are Christians even though they believe almost nothing Christians do in the WAY that Christians do.

How is this situation any different?

  8. tezkingkong says:

No I don’t think so,Jim.Perhaps Shawn is asking if the LDS Church has any type of Ministry in place to counsel members with similar issues to Nick.

  9. JesusIsMyFriend777 says:

Nick sounds like he has wandered far from the living God. I am sorry to say that, however, he sounds like he has succumbed to the temptations of the evil one.

  10. aragrorn92 says:

    Anything is possible..

he forget the With God in front..=)

  11. rpavich says:

Although Nick is LDS and therefore I believe him to be lost, he is one of the most articulate, well spoken LDS folks I’ve encountered…no personal attacks, no rabbit trails…just a straightforward rendering of what he’s doing, what he believes, and why.

I recommend going to the HOTM site and watching the phone calls also.

  12. aaronshaf2006 says:

What is the moral difference between wanting to become famous and wanting to become a God worshiped by billions of spirit children?

Also, what’s wrong with marrying an EX-porn star? If a person has left that sin, then why keep holding it against them?

  13. ratherBsurfinHB says:

Nick is in the throes of a MANIC HIGH EPISODE. PERIOD.

Aaron is using (as are others) a mentally ill person to promote his own biased religious philosophies.

Religion has nothing to do with Nick’s condition. EVERYTHING Nick says or does right now is filtered thru the twisted lens of his condition.

The “christian” thing to do would be to leave him alone and not provide him with the attention that drives his mania.

His family apprecates the few REAL Christian attitudes.

  14. 95toycrawler says:

the reason i mention it is because nick has no credibility with the lds church. nick is a baptized member yes. you called NICK a mainstream mormon which is false. aaron what do you consider a mainstream mormon? there is nothing wrong with marrying an ex porn star.for someon who is sick to say the things he says and for you to try and use him to make the lds religion look wrong is disgusting. then for a public broacasted show to put him on with zero background history makes them look stupid.

  15. 95toycrawler says:

im not sure there is a moral difference aaron. i do whoever think there is a difference when that person is not healthy mentally. if your saying that god or jesus christ JUST wanted to be famous well then i guess christianity is false as is all religions. the bottom line is you have evidence my brother is manic and bipolar yet in a wierd way your defending him. also you are embracing him to show either you or the world what “mainstream” mormons are like. what do you consider a mainstream mormon?

  16. 95toycrawler says:

the reason i mentioned the ex-porn star is to prove a point aaron. nick has zero credibility. if you or HOTM had done any background check on nick you would of learned that. and for nick to say hes trying ot be better that jesus is impossible due to his past. this is his 5th episode i think. your trying to prove your religion and mock another. yet you chose a person with ZERO credibility. thats my point is if your gonna use someone use someone that is a MAINSTREAM mormon, not an ill person.

  17. thatjimguy says:

Well Shawn had a good hour to ask that. Don’t think I heard it. Also, would asking that on the air in front of everyone be the way to do it? I mean, he did meet him at Temple Square. I imagine there would be some people to answer that question. (Also, I am sure they have noticed him just outside their doorstep)

No, there is no underlying motive for this other than Jerry Springer showmanship.

  18. 95toycrawler says:

shawn had a good hour to ask what he wanted. he had days to ask nick about his past and where he comes from. i dont think it would of been appropriate to ask those questions on his show. i do think its important to screen your guests before national television. nick has no credibility is my point. in a few months ill get a vid clip of nick wearing normal clothes to prove he is ver very ill. should be interesting.

  19. VictorLepanto says:

There is something deeply inappropriate about talking about Jesus being a personal “hero.” It is rather like calling your father your best buddy. From an orthodox Christian perspective, such language is not fitting for the dignity of the person being spoken of.

  20. 95toycrawler says:

is it inappropriate when the person saying it is mentally ill ?

  21. VictorLepanto says:

How is he any more mentally ill then Smith? Being a compulsive liar, as Smith so obviously was, is a pretty serious sign of mental illness.
But I have no way of knowing if this man is mentally ill, just ‘cuz you say so.
But again, & it is so striking how this subject always comes up w/ Mormons, it is always inappropriate to talk about Jesus as being a mere hero. This is objectively a matter of dignity & respect. Mental illness would merely provide an excuse for what is still wrong.

  22. tezkingkong says:

I don’t think that it would be wise to ask Nick directly, particularly while he’s experiencing an episode & on live TV. I think that Shawn handled the situation with sensitivity while conveying the message effectively.

  23. 95toycrawler says:

well i dont think there was a dr back in smiths days. nick however has been diagnosed by 2 dr. and i or anyone in my family has NEVER stated that smith wasnt bipolar or insane.

  24. 95toycrawler says:

i dont think it would of been wise either. as i stated earlier he should of screened nick and his guest more thoughrly. i think nick is being used an example in alot of wrong ways. im still stating i want him ignored so we can get him help. its gonna be a different story in 2 months when hes down off his high.
