You are talking about being “free from righteousness”(Rom. 6:20). Jesus’ apostles help us to be “free from sin” (v.18, 22).

You should know that our leaders respect our freedom to choose. All they do is what the prophets of the Bible did – they teach us God’s word and let us govern ourselves.

I know some people who don’t feel comfortable when they hear or read all those things about living chase life, being honest, serve others, etc. They like to complain about lack of freedom, etc. Oh well.

GiftoAll:”Starting in the 1970s members wanted to be called Christian”

    This was published in 1829:

“And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or CHRISTIANS as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come.”(Alma 46:15)

BTW: We still call those who “draw near to [God] with their lips, but their hearts are far from [Him]” CORRUPT.

Freudian slip or typo? chase life. How could you define freedom by constant works? If the church came out and said all of these works aren’t necessary for salvation but needed to keep the organization going, that would be different. Living the word of wisdom and being honest is not exclusive with the church, the church lets everyone know about it. Why didn’t Jesus ever say, “don’t drink wine”? He said it’s not important what goes into a person but what comes out. Freedom is being free.

  4. GiftoAll says:

There was a great Christian conversion during the 70s along with the hippie era. This is why I mentioned it and the church again wanted to belong to the Christian community. Does it really matter if you think Jesus is your spirit brother or he is the almighty God? Who else could have lived a perfect life, performed miracles and rejected Satan? Is it more important to be Christ like or have faith and assurance in the God who has saved us? LDS doctrine destroys the Gift of Grace. Look in the Bible

  5. PolishAbinadi says:

I meant “chaste life” – thanks for the feedback.

*I never said that only people who follow living prophets are sexually pure, honest, etc. I was just saying that the apostles have always called people to keep commandments.

*Jesus did say not to drink wine.

*We are free to do anything we want, but we are not free from the consequences of our actions. You are free to jump from a high bldg. but you can’t choose to survive, etc. You cannot change eternal laws (like – the law of gravity).

  6. GiftoAll says:

Fermented wine. The pharasees accused Jesus of being a wine bibber. He did drink wine. It is a good thing to take all in moderation. Joseph Smith drank and smoked on occasion. It is not a good thing to stand in moral judgement from the use of alcohol, tobacco, tea, coffee, red meat as a sin. This is a foolish idea as well as Gods’ condemnation in the doctrine of the LDS church of colored people. They are all of his creations. Do you have the right to criticize his work?

  7. GiftoAll says:

Who did Jesus help? The sick, disturbed, the sinners. Who did he criticize? The pharasees, publicans, the pious self righteous. Would Jesus approve of a people that believed they were closer to God because they kept another law which made them unique and separate from other sinners? The Jews also thought they were closer to God because of the Law and their unique society. Christ was and is the only one worthy. It should never be praise to da man in a religious setting. It should be honor to man.

  8. PolishAbinadi says:

*I never said Jesus didn’t drink wine (although – unlike you, I never had a chance to check if it was fermented or not).

*In 1833 Jesus gave the world what He called “The Word of Wisdom” where He told us “not by commandment”, but by the word of wisdom that “strong drinks are not for the belly” (D&C 89:7), etc.

*The Word of Wisdom didn’t become a commandment and a requirement for membership until the beg. of 1900s.

*Unlike many protestants, Mormons never condemned colored people.

  9. GiftoAll says:

Jesus never gave mankind the word of wisdom, it was Joseph Smith along with his multi wife doctrine 132.
If you look closely at the book of Isaiah written into the book of mormon, it reads like a King James Bible. Linguists have found mistakes in our current King James and the BookofMormon has the same MISTAKES! What more do you want? The Bookofmormon never came from plates, it came from available sources of Josephs day.

  10. PolishAbinadi says:

“Jesus never gave mankind the word of wisdom, it was Joseph Smith”

Well, for a false prophet – he was right on. Millions of people have been blessed by avoiding substances that the world had to wait for over a century to find out that they are harmful to human body.

Joseph Smith was right on countless of things. If he was a false prophet – he was extremely lucky. We should follow him anyway.

“Is it more important to be Christ like or have faith and assurance in the God who has saved us?”

Having faith in Christ is step 1.

Working to become truly born again, therefore possesing the attributes that Christ does is as equally important.

“Be ye therefore perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect” “If ye love me, keep my commandments”
Mormons do not destroy the Gift of Grace. They seek it fully. We obtain christs grace through obedience to the gospel, or becoming “born again”

  12. DefendingMormonism says:

Looks like your video has attracted a lot of distraction and commotion!

  13. PolishAbinadi says:

DefendingMormonism – I don’t quite get your comment. Can you explain?

    Thanks!

  14. DefendingMormonism says:

Oh, I was simply referring to your comment in the video that the Temple is a place that we can escape all the “distractions and commotion” in the world.

And you simply talking about the blessings of the Temple has attracted those people who delight in causing commotion and distracting people from what’s really important!

keep going and fight for the TRUTH ……

  16. nochance9801 says:

AMEN! There’s too much anti-lds postings online and we haven’t been given the opportunity to defend ourselves. Satan is clever in his ways and has many vices to ensnare the minds of men. It’s far overdue that we educate the internet based people about what is true about the church and what is not! Keep on fighting!

  17. svarteper2 says:

There is nothing strange about temple rituals; they are there to make people feel they are special and it strengthens the organization. There is nothing sinister going on the ceremony any longer, not siince the church hierarchy put a stop to the grotesque oat of throad-slicing hand sign. But consider this: A non-Mormon father cannot escort her Mormon daughter down the aisle or attend the marriage ceremony. Such cruel nonsense is t otally unnecssary. You need to speak up. Don’t be afraid.

  18. PolishAbinadi says:

svarteper2 – “You need to speak up. Don’t be afraid.”

*You must understand – we believe in revelation and we believe that God knows what is good for us better than we think what is good. Democracy, voting, etc. are great things – they are inspired by the Almighty, but when it comes to our salvation we chose to follow our King – the Lord Jesus Christ. We won’t tell Him how His Kingdom should be run but we try to receive His instruction with humility.

  19. svarteper2 says:

Unquestioning obedience? Jawohl mein herr. God gave us a mind. Why not exercise it rather than delegate it to some authoritiy? Dare to be different. Think for yourself. LDS procedures have been changed before and they will chanage again. Why? Because of necessity, that’s why. Look at the temple rites today compared to the grotesque circus of a few years
ago. And the change of the racial doctrine. More changes are coming. Thinking men and women will make these changes, not silent robots.

  20. jacecrawford says:

I love your videos keep them coming! I cannot wait to enter into the Temple of the Lord someday!

  21. RapeingSquid says:

exactly right the last religious orginization that thought that way was put out by the French King and the Pope, on Friday the 13th. Orginized religion keeps a hold on its followers by telling them that are two types of people, the religious who do not question the thoughts of God and others who are atheist and are going to hell. This is not true though, God does want us to think that is why He gave us a mind and atheist if they are good people will go to heaven before Christians who are bad

  22. PolishAbinadi says:

    (1) I agree with you completely when it comes to almost all organizations. I am Polish and I am proud of my people who 20 years or so ago dared to rebel against the Communistic oppression. Now the whole Europe enjoys freedom and prosperity.

In God’s Kingdom the King is perfect so there is no reason to question His decisions. But even then God has never required blind obedience. For me it works well – He has given me an unquestionable witness that He is in charge and I do my best to follow Him.

  23. PolishAbinadi says:

    (2) …I guess the real question is: Is the organization I am talking about really led by God himself or is it one of thousands of imitations? If you are a Christian – I think you will agree that the Church we read about in the NT was led by God. But what happened to that Church? History of Christianity shows that it was gone after the last apostle was murdered.

All I can do is testify that I know that the same Church of Jesus Christ was restored in our days.

  24. Exodus314IAM says:

The last apostle was murdered? was that John? When did he die and how? In D&C section 7 Joseph Smith said that the Apostle John is still alive somewhere on the earth.
The Apostle Paul wrote: “Unto Him (God) be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end Amen” (Ephesians 3:21). Could that be true if there was a universal apostasy of the church for several centuries?

  25. Exodus314IAM says:

Are you following God? or what someone said God said? Is that source a reliable source, have you checked it and compared it to what is good and true? I hope you do, maybe through in some of your own logic as well. God gave us all the ability to question and check all things; I think you really need to do so please.

Not for me or your church, but for yourself and God. Unless you think God does not deserve you seeking the truth.

    God Bless
