“Love doesn’t need ritualistic heebeegeebies to keep the binds secure.”

I agree, Needed are worship hearts of loving obedience to God for each other, but what about the temple masonry & Moroni movement of Monson regards to all of this?

  2. risaloves2cheer says:

I think it’s just because mormons get married way too young

  3. 1MoNoMo says:

I am NOT “anti-Mormon”, sltwisted. That name implies that I am against individual Mormons. My best friend is LDS and all my siblings and their families are LDS and I love all of them. What I AM “anti” is most of Mormon doctrine and ALL of LDS history that has been rebuilt and/or refurbished in order to present a more saleable product to the public.

  4. 1MoNoMo says:

I agree, risa. The problem is that they are counselled to do so by leaders who THINK/CLAIM/BELIEVE they have received that counsel from a divine, heavenly source. OOOPS!!! The proof is in the puddin!!–or LACK thereof…

Well, I must admit you do a pretty good job of fooling everyone, 1MoNoMo. :)
But if that’s the case, let’s be friends! :D

  6. 22EBola22 says:

“Fooling everyone”? I didn’t realize that I had to submit a personal history in order to avoid being categorized? If LDS didn’t have such a sensitive persecution complex, they wouldn’t feel the need to take the criticisms directed at LDS doctrine/history so personally.

    “Friends”? Absolutely!

The one quality that my best friend (who is LDS) has is when we discuss Moism is to listen to the point and to not automatically dismiss it as garbage nor take it personally.

  7. slightlytwistedchild says:

Alright. Do you see me going on atheist videos? Being a complete antagonist to all their beliefs? Spouting out why everything they say is wrong and the reasons why? It takes someone with an “anti” mentality to actually go out and seek videos to try and discredit everything people with that belief might say. And you’re right when you say I take things personally. How can I not? I have been LDS my whole life, and I love my religion. (cont)

  8. slightlytwistedchild says:

.(cont)…Everything that I am is because of the things that I have been taught. And I don’t know what you tell your LDS friend, but he/she must be a tough cookie.

  9. 22EBola22 says:

Just because you choose to lable it the way your church does, does not make it accurate.

Speaking of the 60K missos: They are sent out by the very men in this video to0 do what? They are sent out to mainly Christians who already have their own beliefs–people just like you who were born and raised RCC or Methodist, etc.–and are told by these 60K that their church is wrong/corrupt/an abomination.

  10. 22EBola22 says:

yet you and those 60K missos EXPECT these people to not take that attack on their beloved religion, personally!?
You obviously believe that it’s OK for your church to antagonize Christians around the world–and at the same time, lay that restriction on me and others who object to what LDS are spreading around the world–and it ain’t peace and love. It is “them against us”. Look at LDS racism against black men–LDS antagonism against women’s rights via their anti ERA stance.

    Mormon temples dot the earth.

They are one of many indications that the Lord’s work continues to progress throughout the world unimpeded by earthly hands.

Fools mock, but they shall mourn.

The sacred ordinances performed there bring peace and joy to those on both sides of the veil.

The Holy Spirit bears witness of these truths.

Go to God directly to gain the spiritual witness for yourself.

  12. slightlytwistedchild says:

(cont) Btw, I went to the temple today, and it was another wonderful experience. I’m so grateful for temples and the peace and strength that I feel in them. :)

Anyway, I think on one thing we can agree… nothing I say will convince you of my point of view, and nothing you say will convince me of yours. Thank you for expressing your opinions…they’re at least interesting to read. ;) Hope your day is a great one.

I don’t mind being told what to do if it is the path to happiness, and I believe it is. All I have experienced as an LDS member has only made me happier and have a greater love for the people around me. It has given me purpose and direction in a world that lacks it. It has taught me to be serviceable and compassionate to my fellow men. It has taught me to live with strong moral character and to stand up for all that is good. (cont..)

  14. slightlytwistedchild says:

(cont.) It has offered me comfort and peace when everything in my life felt like it had fallen part. But most of all, it has taught me that through the Savior, every single person on this earth can repent and be made whole again. Despite what you may say, I know that to be true. And millions of people can stand by me unflinchingly and say the same thing.

  15. JAMaddict says:

All of that can be found in millions of churches around the US, none of which were founded by a liar and a polygamist. Ask yourself this: if the LD$ church is so true, why are you all but forbidden to look at non-LD$ approved sites about the church? Why is EVERYONE who speaks out against it vilified? What does LD$ have to hide? (A lot, I guarantee you.)

Look into the BoA discrepancies, Smith’s seeing stone, DNA issues, temple changes, JS’s masonic roots and the similarities…

  16. JAMaddict says:

Islamic temples dot the earth. Jewish synagogues dot the earth. Catholic cathedrals dot the earth. Christian churches dot the earth.

You realize how lame your argument is, right?

Actually- for me it was the HS that warned me and made me ill until I got rid of the BoM and asked the mishies to stop coming to my house. The HS has confirmed to me that Smith was a liar and a fraud. He also assured me that He will NEVER contradict His original revelation, the Bible.
