erm hello how about mentioning moroni? he is nearly on all the temples, right at the top ..meaning he is the main diety

  4. lds9999 says:

He is not the “main deity”. Because of the angel Moroni’s role in restoring the everlasting gospel to be preached to all the world (cf. Rev. 14:6-7; D&C 133:31-39), the Church placed a statue depicting him as a herald of the Restoration atop the Salt Lake Temple, and later on the hill Cumorah near Palmyra, New York, where anciently he had buried the Book of Mormon plates. Copies of the statue have also been placed atop several other LDS temples.

    Holiness to the Lord
    The House of the Lord

Symbolism. Just as Solomon’s temple faced east so Moroni faces east sounding a trumpet to announcing the gathering of Israel.

doesn’t the trumpet also represent the restoration of the gosple ? sence the restoration began with Moroni after the first vision that is .
I guess we all look at different perspectives of what is used as symble

  15. rbvmtr says:

    ditto….

  16. rbvmtr says:

no, he is a resurrected being sent to restore the gosple . (a person who onced lived apon the Earth ,given a mission by the Eternal Father)

  17. tmill1234 says:

The trumpet represents Moroni calling the nations to the Lord and to the promised land thats why all of the Angel Moroni’s face west except for the Seattle temple which faces east calling the eastern nations. Its a symbol of calling the nations and people to the truth.

Thank God for apostles and prophets on earth today. The Lord sent prophets from Adam until Christ. If there was ever a time when apostles may not have been needed you would think it would be when Christ himself was on the earth, but even then, he appointed apostles…why would anyone think it would be different now?

The journey before these pioneers was a 17-mile-trek, symbolizing the one their fellow Mormons and ancestors made nearly 170 years ago.

It is certainly atypical, said Amelia Banks, of Brookline. But it is a really good way to see what they went through and put us in their shoes.
