Mormon Messages: Why Mormons Build Temples

Throughout history, the Lord has commanded His people to build temples. Temples are literally houses of the Lord. They are holy places of worship where individuals make sacred promises with God.

Why do mormons use water instead of wine or grape juice in the communion?

  3. wiltba13 says:

In one of our books of scripture, the Doctrine & Covenants, this revelation was recorded: “For, behold, I say unto you, that it mattereth not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink when ye partake of the sacrament, if it so be that ye do it with an eye single to my glory — remembering unto the Father my body which was laid down for you, and my blood which was shed for the remission of your sins.” D&C 27:1-2 Water is now used instead of wine in the sacramental services of the LDS church.

Oh youre the guy who wont answer my question. How could God be a Fair and Just Being and give only the Mormons the Answers to the Test of Life? You say Life is a Test, but then you claim God gave you Mormons the Answers to the Test. Why wont you explain how God could be Fair and Just and give the Answers only to Mormons? Why would he unjustly slip only Mormons the answers before the Test is over?

Troughout the history of mankind, God has given the answers to “the test of life”, at many different times, to prophets, but that havent lasted without being pushed down by peoples “free will/agency”. the biggest “rejection” to that was when Jesus Christ was rejected and the 12 apostles, which were killed most of them. and the revelations stopped coming once again, as times before.
(I´m Swedish, living in sweden, so sorry if I spelled words wrong).

People all over the world have been given answers. God has sent his angels to every land. The spirit of Christ dwells in every man and woman. Each has a choice to accept the truth when they hear it, or reject it as a thing of naught. We offer the truth to everyone, no matter what faith they are,. We know that God loves everyone of his children, and that you are also a child of God. Thank you. I am sure that as you seek for the truth, you will be blessed.

He gave it to us and we try to share it through missionaries

Most people know too little about how the mormon religion works. I suggest you learn answers to your questions by asking missionaries to your house, reading the bible and book of mormon, attending meetings and praying. To clarify, the ‘answers’ are available to anyone who wishes to accept the gospel teachings. You have to seek first, then ye shall find. God made his teachings available to everyone. Nobody but you can stop you from getting in the game. Your ‘answers’ are easily ready if you are.

Anyone can receive an answer it doesnt matter if your mormon or not. The important thing is are you willing to accept the answer what ever it may be? God’s answers are always right and because we are His sons and daughters we are blessed with the truth. What also matters is the desire to knowing the answer that we are looking for. But you must ask in Faith knowing that He will give you the answer you are looking for. (James 1:5-6) Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you!

    Hi,

The answers are available to all, but God always has and always will disseminate those answers in one way: “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7). Truth is not subjective and is unchanging–”One Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Eph 4:5).

  13. brianmrhodes says:

Think of all of the Churches–even Christian churches–who disagree on key issues such as same-sex marriage, abortion, how one is saved (e.g., Is baptism vital or optional?), etc. and each of those churches believes they are right because they are using the Bible to reach their conclusions. Latter-day Saints use and cherish the Bible but there must be a LIVING prophet (like Noah, like Moses, like Peter) to guide the LIVING church in the way it is to go.

  14. brianmrhodes says:

The answers ARE up for grabs–but you’ll only find them in one place. That place happens to be God’s church–not MY church–His Church. I just happen to be a member of it. Many churches have a great abundance of truth but there is only one where it is found in its fulness–in its entirety. God is not a God of confusion (1 Cor 14:33) and will follow the pattern He has always followed in revealing His plan to His children.

  15. brianmrhodes says:

If you don’t believe me, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5).

I hope this offers sincere response to what I assume is a sincere question.

    God bless,

    Brian

I love going to the Temple. It is where I escape from the world and reflect upon eternity. It is my “sacred space” of refuge. Everything about the Temple is centered around Jesus Christ.

  20. theluckiestlady says:

As Mormons we have a purpose when we attend the temple. We go and make scared coveants with Heavenly Father and promise to take His name upon us and share our love of the Lord with all we come in contact with. . Unless you have a understanding of why Mormons preform these ordinances and would want to partake of them yourself, there would be no reason for you to attend the temple, Call the missionarys and they will explain it all. You can listen, pray about it and then decided.

  21. ArizonaDesertPiper says:

    KidsandKarma,
God, the Heavenly Father of all of is, will give all of us answers. We just need to asked him in faith and listen to His answer, not necessarily the answer we want to hear. We are all his children and he loves us all, but as any parent he hates some of the things we do.

If you like this you should listen to the words of the music “Come to the House of the Lord” by Steven Kapp Perry and Brad Wilcox. I have been singing in a choir doing this program and it has increased my desire to got o the temple so much that if I could I would be there learning from the Lord the important things in life. Come to the House of the Lord and you will be filled with light!

    What goes on inside?

  25. Noblewlah says:

    Frangipani1974,

Several Odainances, which must be performed in a place as holy as a temple of god. The First most common is the marriage cerimony, along with binding the familys together for life and life after death for eternity. The second are for our anccestors and loved ones who have passed away. There are several things that must be done here on earth to recieve exaltation and the kindgom of god we believe. So we do it on and for behalf of those who are dead. Because god loves everyone!
