My marriage does not involve your religion. You can continue to follow your religious belief and not marry someone gay. But to say you respect gay people, but they don’t deserve the same laws and protections as you enjoy, is a bigot view point. Plain and simple. If your civil rights were taken away, would you sit back and not take action? I respect your religion, respect my pursuit of happiness.
Maybe if you colorful faggots would of had the same amount of people protesting before the vote you fruity asses would of won.
The Mormons would have still voted YES because theyre religious people with morals.

You ask for people to respect your religion, but at the same time you use your beliefs to try and get certain relationships you don’t like banned?
Banned? Who said anything about being banned? There is a HUGE difference between my objection to gay marriage on moral grounds and banning homosexual relationships. I would suggest doing some research if you don’t understand the difference. On the same token, you expect me to forget my beliefs to allow you to feel welcome. I believe homosexuality is wrong, and yes, I am proud that I used my rights in voting to express this
No, there is no difference at all. You are opposed to the formation of a marital relationship between same sex couples, and are supporting a formal ban on it. It doesn’t matter what your personal beliefs (more like what your church’s) are, you are effectively supporting a ban.
Yes, I am supporting a ban on formal marriages for homosexual couples. You say it like its a bad thing, I don’t think it is. If you want to get married then meet the criteria. And yes, my personal beliefs do matter, that is why I, along with the majority of Californians voted to BAN gay marriage. Who do you think you are to say my beliefs don’t matter? I attend the church because I have similar views, so these are MY beliefs, not just the views of my church. You lost, get over it.
Ahh poor gays. Spare me. Its funny how they can cry about there rights but, what about the rights of the church. They have the right to believe and protest against what ever they want, and if they happen to use money to support that then thats just how it is. Too bad so sad better luck next year
Take away rights? Marriage is not a right, and nothing was taken away from them. This is the SECOND time the PEOPLE have said that gay marriage is wrong. You have to run to a judge to override the PEOPLE’S decision. Accept our decision and gt on with life. Superstitious nonsense? You are the one who believes in fairies! The “people” (meaning just a sizable portion of them) took away the freedom of a minority for superficial reasons. That is not justified at all. Maybe you are a just mindless drone who only goes along with the majority, but others have their own interests, their own lives, and are not going to be bullied around by some bigoted majority.
Most people who voted for Prop 8 voted for it because of their religion, which is superstitious belief, and has no place in a secular society.

Hey, Mormon-haters … keep wasting your time. There aren’t that many Mormons in CA. They didn’t pass prop 8. The vote largely came from Blacks and Latinos. But by all means, don’t protest against them….
No, black and Latino as a whole did not vote for prop 8. They aren’t an institution who promotes intolerance of non-straight sexualities. Are you seriously implying it’s sensible to protest against black people?
There was plenty of blame to go around, no one was blaming Mormons exclusively. Drop the persecution complex.

Living in fantasy land? THEY DID vote for prop 8 overwhelmingly. What can’t accept that blacks and latinos find your life style repugnant? Gee, I wonder if those two communities are heavily Christian? Why yes I believe they are. And of the very serious variety. Baptists and Catholic. Did the Pope come out and endorse faggotry while I wasn’t looking? Doubtful. So accept it. Society “as a whole” still views you and yours as outside the norm.
By overwhelmingly, you mean a slight majority. Again, you expect people to protest against black people? I know racists are always itching for a chance to scapegoat racial minorities, but there is no reason for any sensible person to do so. Only individuals and institutions are to blame.

Check THAT out. Blacks did vote for prop 8 OVERWHELMINGLY, it is told from the prospective of people trying to defeat prop 8, you can’t change the fact that blacks and latinos voted yes on prop 8 at a much larger percentage then whites. How many gay black and latinos are you seeing protesting? Whites are a higher percentage of the homosexual community. Facts are facts even when inconvenient.
Not sure what I was looking for in that video except the 70% figure which I already knew about and is hardly overwhelming.
This also has nothing to do with what I was saying. It would be wrong (and stupid) to scapegoat black or latino people in general. Instead, protesters targeted institutions that supported Prop 8.
I support prop 8 and I am not an institution. I think we are argueing two different subjects. 70 % is a overwhelming voting political number. Beyond a landslide, it is an avalanche. Thus these peoples need to get out and CONVINCE Blacks and Latinos to vote their way next time. If they come at with the same ol demanding nonsense it will not happen.
