  1. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
Which accusations that Shawn brings up are false?

    Be specific.

  2. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
A Christian has been elected by God for salvation, God has changed his heart to accept the foolishness of the gospel, and because of that has believed that foolish gospel.

    thats a Christian

Is that what happened to you?

  3. Rammiumptum says:

    Better question.
Can you tell me which accusations are true?

  4. Rammiumptum says:

You must be more intelligent that to misinterpret what I said. It says something in the books, which means obviously theres nothing to hide. The video is a little different, but that doesnt mean the lds church is trying to “cover up” anything. Its all there and thats the point I was making with bringing up harry potter. It says one thing in the book, that isnt in the movie, why is that wrong? Why make a big deal out of it?

  5. Rammiumptum says:

But how is someone “elected by god for salvation” what I get taught is that salvation comes to those who accept christ to be their savior, not that God picks someone or elects certain individuals. God wont make someone a christian, its a personal choice to accept christ or not, thats what a christian is is someone who accepts christ to be the savior of the world. Prove me wrong.

  6. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
    Here is how things work.

1.) You made a dogmatic assertion of falsity on Shawns part.

You either retract or show specifically what facts he has wrong.

The burden of proof for your assertion is on you.

when you come up with something, we’ll examine what you came up with; that’s my part.

That’s how basic argumentation works in the real world.

  7. rpavich says:

    Ramm,

    “Quote: Prove me wrong”

    Ok…how about:

    Romans 8:
For **he chose us** in Christ **before the foundation of the world**
He did this by **predestining us to adoption** as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will

God is performing all of the verbal actions…

    we are the direct objects.

    I could go on.

  8. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
    Because it’s apples and oranges.

Harry Potter isn’t the history of a Prophet, church, and people.

Given that the LDS church has a track record of keeping things hush hush that aren’t “faith promoting” I think that Shawn’s points are valid.

    Your comparison isn’t.

  9. Rammiumptum says:

thats the point i made with commenting on this video, i used harry potter as an example, its there in lds books the things which the church “covered up” by not putting it in the movie. You obviously dont understand my point very well.

  10. Rammiumptum says:

so what youre saying is you dont have to accept christ to be the savior of the world and live by his teachings to be christian….so then you tell me what it means to be a christian.

  11. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
Are you going to deal with Romans 8 or are you going to rabbit-trail on me?

You said “Prove me wrong” I sited just one passage that supported my statement and proved you wrong…

    Deal with it…:)

    ——————————–

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. “Accept Christ to be the savior of the world” is not in the bible….”live by his teachings” is not in the bible.

  12. rpavich says:

    Quote:
“then you tell me what it means to be a Christian”

A Christian is someone who’s been saved by God.

  13. Rammiumptum says:

You bringing up Romans 8 didnt help your argument at all, you said “God elects christians to be saved”. The word choice is poor. And youre telling me that it doesnt say in the bible that accepting christ is the only way to salvation? same with living by his teachings? You obviously think you know a lot about the bible, ill show you tomorrow were both the statments you said are wrong. Youre a joke haha.

  14. Rammiumptum says:

And god just personally selects a handful of people to be saved and the rest are screwed? Or is a christian someone who comes to god and repents? How does one get to inheret the kingdom of heaven?

  15. Rammiumptum says:

Well and I told you, because youre so sure in what Shawn says, to point out what accusations are true, I gave you the challenge, take it Mr. know-it-all.

  16. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
Evidently you’ve never had to dialoug with someone right?

You think that tossing out an assertion and the running….”doing a drive by” is good argumentation?

    sorry dude…

Either retract your initial assertions or back them up….

    that’s how life works

  17. rpavich says:

    I’m waiting….

  18. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
Yes, God selects….ever heard of “his elect” or “the remnant”?

And who said it would be “a handful”? You said that not the bible.

Yes, a Christians is someone who repents and puts their faith in Christ.

And that doesn’t mean that my other answer is incorrect…IF God chooses to save a person, i.e. elects him/her to salvation, then that person will repent and be saved.

  19. rpavich says:

    Actually you said;

“Prove me wrong” and i did.

Neither of the statements you made are the way of salvation according to the bible.

Romans 8:28….now that’s in the bible.

I don’t care about your opinions, I care about what the word actually says…

  20. Rammiumptum says:

In response to Romans 8:28…its good to them that love god, to them(meaning the people who love god) who are the called according to his purpose. Meaning those who love god are the ones for his purposes. Johnn 14:15″If ye love me keep my commandments.”
And what do you think Jesus taught? If being baptized by the water and of the spirit, having faith in christ, repenting and keeping the commandments doesnt “save you” then what does your faith believe in.

  21. Rammiumptum says:

So if God didnt elect a certain person to be saved, but that person still accepts Christ to be the savior and repents, is the person still saved because God didnt elect them? I’m sorry your faith obviously ignores John 3:16 and 1 John 4:8, God loved the whole world, God is love. If god loved the world, why would he not select everyone to be saved by repenting and accepting his son, Jesus Christ to be the savior?

  22. Rammiumptum says:

I’m not avoiding it, I told you a better question would be for you to tell me what Shawn said about Joseph Smith was true, really youre the one avoiding it because you cant step up to the challenge because you really dont know.
Youre a joke and a contradiction to the bible. You dont have a traditional Christian view of Christ or God, the “God elects people to be saved” is really close to the Jehovah’s Witness doctrine, are you a Jehovah’s Witness?

  23. rpavich says:

    Ramm,
I guess this is my last comment.

You obviously don’t understand how coherent argumentation works, I’ve tried to explain it…and you just keep going ( in effect) “I know you are but what am I?” like the kids argumentation strategy.

Do yourself a favor, go to Amazon and buy a book on argumentation.

It will help and those who you talk to in the future will take you more seriously.

  24. Rammiumptum says:

lol, if you were to be taken more seriously you would not contradict yourself, you contradicting yourself and lack of being able to come up with a response to a better question, and having the answer of “I asked you first, thats how an argument works” well in you coming up with that answer I dont have to argue with you to prove you to be wrong and show everyone that you dont know what youre talking about, you do that for me, told you you were a joke.

  25. wildeone121 says:

Ummm no we are not jehovahs witnesses, we don’t say the elect will be saved, we believe that those who believe in his church and follow his commandments will be saved, as Jesus said to Peter, “if ye love me, keep my commandments”
And seriously, let people believe what they want, bc it isn’t christian to rip on others beliefs
