Bear Grylls “Born Survivor” or “Man vs. Wild”

Have you seen it? It’s just awesome. It’s known as Born Survivor in the UK and Man. vs. Wild in the United States.

Bear Grylls is a former British Special Forces member, adventurer, and survival specialist. He has climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest and holds the World Record for powered Para sailing – over where else – Mt. Everest! He broke his back at age 21 after a parachute accident and spent 18 months in the Hospital. You would think that would have slowed him down a bit. You would be wrong!

Amazingly it hasn’t done anything but motivate him to do more.

The show if family friendly, but a bit icky when he eats things like spiders and scorpions! But that’s just a small part of the show and in cases of survival it could save your life as he would say.

The real premise of the show consists of Bear (Which is his nickname given to him by his sister) parachutes or is dropped off in a remote location somewhere in the world with little more than a canteen, a knife, a flint, and the clothes on his back.

He then proceeds to work his way out of the Jungle, the Desert, The Mountains, The Artic, or wherever else no sane person would really travel. Along the way he shows you how to survive in the conditions. He is also an expert climber and does some really scary things that no ordinary person would attempt or be capable of executing.

Available on DVD and the Discovery Channel

Highly Recommended.
