Researching your family’s Ancestry can actually be more than a responsibility, it can be fun! And while the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has already done extensive work creating a vast archive system that you can access simply by registering, there are also many other free and paid genealogical resources to tap into. Knowing your family history helps you gain a greater understanding of your purpose in life.

The work is on going and the Latter Day Saints Genealogy records are not complete for many family trees. Unfortunately once you go back a few hundred years there are some pretty big issues to deal with… like the lack of paper, the printing press, and accurate recording keeping.

Introduce human error into the equation and you have a real challenge compiling your own family history, but it’s still worthwhile. LDS Genealogy Research is something you can involve your entire family in as a fun learning activity.

Latter Day Saints Genealogy Resources:

FamilySearch.org – This is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints owned website. This is the best place to begin your Family History Search. An amazing list of resources including Census Records, Court Records, Land and Property Records, Military Records… just an extensive starting point.
